Vintage Moderns at the Green Mill

Sunday night was an unseasonably warm night for Chicago (too bad I can't say the same for tonight). I recently had dental work done and ever since then my teeth have been so sensitive to hot and cold, that I haven't been able to warm myself up with liquor. Last night was the first night that I wished I could of warmed up with some warm nog or a glass of red wine, without hours of stinging pain afterward. I was convinced to go out to Joshua's work holiday party by the promise of free dinner, but I was sorta happy we went out because it seemed like the last time I'd be able to wear high heels without falling.

The Green Mill is this old old jazz bar in Chicago. It used to be a speakeasy in the Prohibition days and it was a known Capone hang out. In fact the rumor is that the basement of this place still has deep deep grooves from the gangsters rolling the heavy barrels of alcohol to other speakeasies around the city.

They always have some sort of live music playing and often there are professional dancers just hanging out, hogging the dance floor. The couple other times I'd been there, the other people were very intimidating because all seem to have a real authentic vintage vibe about them.
Luckily the girls that Joshua works with, are all very fun and tend to do vintage often! We all tried to dress in around the prohibition period, and rightly so we took all the photos in Black
and White.
