alternate worlds

The weather in Chicago this weekend was so magical. It was warm and sunny and the dead yellow leaves of all the trees on the boulevard lined the sidewalks. After a really busy work week, the gals all meet up for dinner at Irazu. It was a glorious meal, I hadn't been there in a couple months and ate my entire sandwich with glasses and glasses of wine. Off to the punk rock show! The Mickey show was good and there were enough spectacles to keep me entertained the whole night including some of the next morning. My feet were stepped on so many times by girls in boots, I'll never wear soft shoes on the weekends again. We also saw the funniest thing ever in a really drunk girl, who was ALL over Alison's Boyfriend, and then, we saw her get taken out , football style by 2 guys, and the headbutted! repeatedly! I saw her sleeping or passed out on a chair later in the evening, she will certainly need her rest.
In the morning Taryn and I got up early and went out into the world to run all our womanly duties. We had a cart full of household items and foods at Walmart and Domincks.
It was the most groceries I'd bought ever, my trunk and backseat was filled with bags.
We have enough food for the Apocalypse. When we got home, we organized the whole kitchen just for all our new foods. We decided it was a good time for a break after making some peanut noodles for dinner and we went to see New York, I love you.
On the way there we had several cop cars drive past us in a hurry, from the direction we'd just come from. Curious, we bought a police scanner app for her iphone and tried to listen in. Nothing. It was very disappointing.
We came home and hung out at our neighbors party for a while and then decided it the rest of the night would be better spent, making a nest in our living room so we could be safe while smoking salvia. Neither of us had ever done it before, and we only had it because a customer left it behind in the dressing room, at her work. It came with a pipe and everything.
We gathered all the cat and dog figurines and paintings from around the house, pillows and blankets, and houseplants, pulled out the futon, grabbed all the pets, closed the room off from the rest of the house, set our mood lighting, and decided on a playlist.
We were set and comfy and we each took a hit of the salvia. Taryn first, because she was the most scared and then I did.
I didn't see anything to strange, everything was a little more dimensional, and I thought everything was outlined in a heave color, and in my head I kept thinking it was called cording, but it's only because of my work.
It was so relaxing and our nest was just so comfortable, we had everything we needed at our fingertips. We didnt say anything and we both drifted into sleep. I had the most vivid dreams, it was the same dreams I had that morning! I was having dreamland deja vu. In the middle of the night Joshua came home from the show he'd gone to and found all the pets, Taryn and I , all asleep on the futon. He flopped right on the futon next to me and passed out.
We woke up early in the morning to a couple across the street fighting. I got out the binoculars because it seemed like it could of escalated into something really serious. The scene was 2 men and 1 woman, they were all yelling and one of the guys was holding the other man and the woman was beating him. The guy being held was also on his cellphone, but it wasnt with the police or anything. He seemed to just try to carry on a conversation while he was getting hit on. He tried to move away some of the time but the woman just chased him down. The guy who was trying to restrain him was pushing him into a car, that was running with the door open. The woman was relentless and just kept hitting him. Well after a minute or so I got tired and went back to the futon with everyone else. It was morning and soon after the fight woke us all up, we all moved into our rooms.
